The vehicle already has an All India Permit issued by its respective state RTO department. However, it needs to pay the border tax for each state it travels to. If the driver or vehicle owner does not want to pay a separate border tax for each state, they can pay the All India Tax, allowing the vehicle to travel to any state without paying a separate border tax fee.
The All India Tax is available for two options: 3 months (90 days) or 1 year (365 days). The user needs to choose one of these two options to get the receipt for the same.
If the vehicle has only a local permit, it cannot opt for the All India Border Tax. Also, the vehicle needs to have a VLT device installed. Otherwise, both the All India Permit and All India Tax cannot be renewed.
All vehicles have different All India Permit fees according to their seating capacity.
